Staff from Ward 23 and representatives from Commissioner George Cardenas of the Cook County Board of Review partnered up to help residents file an appeal on their property tax assessment. We assisted homeowners in-person at both our ward offices in West Lawn and Garfield Ridge. If you were unable to attend, please call our office for assistance at 773-582-4444.

We helped over 100 residents this morning at our Ward Office in the West Lawn neighborhood with questions about their most recent property tax bill. Thank you to everyone that came in-person and to the representatives from the Cook County Assessor's Office for coming to the Southwest Side community to have one-on-one conversations with residents.

Today, two representatives from the Cook County Assessor’s Office were at the 23rd Ward Garfield Ridge office helping 23rd Ward residents with missed exemptions on the second installment bill.

Thank you to all the Veterans who served our country to protect our freedom. On Veteran’s Day, I joined the American Legion Post 735 at St. Daniel the Prophet School where Commander Angel Mosqueda and Col. Francisco Carranza awarded a check to Jimmy, a student who won the post’s essay contest. Stopped by to have lunch with the Veterans from VFW Rhine Post 2729 and attended an outdoor ceremony later in the afternoon that was hosted by the Midway Chamber of Commerce.
Teamed up with CFD and 8th District Councilman Jason Huff to bring awareness about fire prevention. Thank you to Firefighter Twyman for coming out and informing the St. Faustina Senior Club about essential fire prevention tips during October’s Fire Prevention month. CFD smoke detectors are available for seniors residing in the 23rd Ward.
