Honoring Residents

Officer Vasquez Lasso not only had courage, but a heart dedicated to protecting us in the community, like we were his own family. His legacy is something the West Lawn neighborhood will always protect, just like he did for us.

In memory of Rich Techman we dedicated the 5300 block of South Mobile Avenue.
Rich, was a lifelong resident of the 23rd Ward and was very active in our community,
having served as president of the Garfield Ridge Civic League and a proud member of
Beat 811-Garfield Ridge Neighborhood Watch.

Honorary Resolutions Honoring Residents

We honored Sgt. Dena Carli on her retirement from the Chicago Police Department after 30 years of service. We thank her and her family for their sacrifices in allowing Sgt. Carli to serve and protect our city.

them with a resolution at their celebratory dinner at European Chalet Banquet.

Alderman Raymond Lopez and I were honored to recognize Shelly Vinyard Perez for her work
with the Chicago memorial Police Foundation Gold Star Families. Shelly is the widow of
Police Officer Benjamin Perez (E.O.W. 9/18/2002). Shelly has dedicated her time and has
provided support to other Gold Star Families. To an outstanding woman, we thank you.
