We raised nearly $10,000 at our 5th annual “Get Behind the Vest” pancake breakfast on Oct 16th, that’s 20 bulletproof vests for our CPD officers.

Thank you to 8th District Commander Spreyne and the men and women of CPD for stopping by to help with our 4th Annual Get Behind the Vest Pancake Breakfast. Thanks to St. Daniel the Prophet for always allowing us to host such a great event and to the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation for providing our men and women in blue with bullet proof vest.

Today's event was such a success and we could not have done it without the amazing volunteers, sponsors, and most importantly the community. This event raised enough money to buy 20 vests (vests are worth $500). Thank you everyone who made today such a success. I also want to thank my staff Rosaura Bocanegra, Ann Nieciak, Vanessa Marcial, Alexia Lopez, Violeta Sosa and our ward Street and Sanitation Superintendent Carlos Muñoz for their great teamwork.
