I will be filing a resolution for a public hearing with county criminal justice system heads to disclose current processes and statistics of individuals on electronic monitoring, active warrants, and their tracking and pursuit. Numerous repeat violent offenders have been released, absconded from monitoring, and have active court orders for apprehension. The public deserves to be informed about the pursuit efforts and the number of such individuals. Click here for article. Click here for resolution.

This week witnessed the inaugural meeting of the Cook County-Chicago Violence Against Women Task Force. Representatives from state, county, and city departments, including the Office of Emergency Management, Chicago Police Department, and Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, convened to facilitate a comprehensive review of all policies and procedures pertaining to our responses to domestic violence incidents. The objective is to ensure optimal coordination across all governmental levels, thereby safeguarding victims and holding offenders accountable. While significant work remains, this first meeting marked a pivotal moment in adopting an “all hands-on deck” approach to address this critical issue. Click hereto watch CBS News.
