This week witnessed the inaugural meeting of the Cook County-Chicago Violence Against Women Task Force. Representatives from state, county, and city departments, including the Office of Emergency Management, Chicago Police Department, and Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, convened to facilitate a comprehensive review of all policies and procedures pertaining to our responses to domestic violence incidents. The objective is to ensure optimal coordination across all governmental levels, thereby safeguarding victims and holding offenders accountable.
